The new season started fast. As you may remember, last week’s Tottenham-Manchester City game was breathtaking. Now it’s time for an Arsenal-Chelsea battle, and a great match is awaiting us again. Let’s take a look at the previous games these two teams played in the past…

The victor of the last two matches played between the teams was Arsenal. On the other hand, we can see that Arsenal hasn’t had three wins in a row against Chelsea since February 2004. As for Chelsea, they haven’t had a five-match victory streak in Premier League since January 2006, despite the four London derbies which they won.  We can also see that Arsenal, which will be playing at their home first time this season, lost their first home game in five of the last ten seasons they played in the Premier League.

We can easily say that statistics make it easier to make some predictions about the match. Probably they won’t prove wrong for this game, either. Unlike last year, Chelsea will be playing in this London derby as the champion of the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup. Last week's opening match victory of Chelsea against Crystal Palace was a message to Arsenal, in a sense. As for Arsenal, they experienced a shocking defeat away at Brentford in the opening fixture. Although they displayed superior performance compared with their opponent in terms of the game stats, they couldn’t score and left the field with a 2-0 defeat. But even though it wasn’t a very good start for Mikel Arteta, now the Gunners might be aiming to beat Chelsea to get their first win in the league and present their fans with a grand derby victory. Well, it seems like an enjoyable game is waiting for us. Even thinking that all football lovers who are fans of the Premier League will be sitting excitedly in front of their TV and the ones who have the opportunity will take their places at the Emirates Stadium puts us in the mood for the match. The London derby, which will be refereed by Paul Tierney from the English Football Association, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. We hope to see everything there is to good football.
